HR Recruit have another HR Officer job vacancy for a Edinburgh based client handled by our Scotland team.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR Officer to join a forward thinking international law firm based in Edinburgh. This role is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HR Officer, who is eager to provide an exceptional client service to a forward thinking law firm.

The role involves supporting the HR Business Partners in providing a Human Resource service to various departments within the organisation. In particular:
Acting as the primary interface managing the HR relationships across the departments to ensure service delivery of operational HR, employee relations and strategic initiatives as required
Providing general advice on HR policies such as maternity leave, grievance and disciplinary procedures, flexible working requests, diversity and data protection.
Performance Management – Provide expert advice on performance management issues including carrying out investigations and disciplinary meetings and advising Senior HR Business Partners on employment law and best practice
Assist with advice, training and coaching on the appraisal process and ensure the timely completion of performance appraisals ensuring the process is followed through from beginning to end
Compensation & Reward – Ensure the remuneration and reward issues are aligned to the wider firm including market and benchmarking analysis and reward activities.
Assist with the annual salary review and employee benefits programmes.
Liaise with the recruitment team to ensure recruitment is managed effectively and in line with policy and to assist as required with candidate screening, interviewing and assessment.
Conduct and present at company inductions as and when required.
Work with the Learning and Development team to ensure that individuals are equipped with the skills necessary to carry out their jobs to a high level, identifying any development issues or coaching needs.
Work with the Senior HR Business Partner to manage sickness absence (including long-term absence) and conduct absence meetings as necessary.
Provide employment law advice, using specialist assistance as necessary.
Work with HR Administration team to ensure completion of appropriate administration

The ideal candidate must have previous HR experience and :
Be of graduate caliber, ideally with a degree in human resources, business administration or similar, or a senior level professional qualification or accreditation such as graduate member of CIPD.
A proactive attitude and be keen to seek out information.
Strong influencing and communication skills
Excellent verbal communication and reasoning skills.
The capacity to establish credibility quickly.
Strong organisational and planning skills and ability to prioritise effectively
Excellent team working, be adaptable and flexible
Happy to undertake regular travel within the UK (likely to be to Glasgow, London, Bristol and Aberdeen).
Solid understanding of English Employment Law.
